Botox injections and other neurotoxins like Dysport work by reducing the contractions of the muscles that cause those persistent frown lines and creases that have developed over time. It is injected into the skin to treat mild to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, crow's feet lines, drooping corners of the mouth, lip lines and neck folds. Botox® is also most useful in alleviating sweating under the arms and in the hands. With one simple, 10-minute treatment, results can be seen within a couple of days and can last for up to four months (individual results will vary). There is no recovery time. Many patients have the treatment performed on their lunch hour. After treatment you may experience some redness or swelling.
Soft Tissue Facial Filler Injections
Soft tissue Fillers are most commonly used to keep the face looking youthful. There are multiple fillers available today eg. Restylane, Radiesse Perlane, Juvederm, Fat and Sculptra. They are either injected beneath the skin to help fill in lines and creases and to add fullness to cheeks and the lips. Injectable fillers maybe used alone or in combination with Botox or with a resurfacing procedure, such as a laser treatment or a recontouring procedure, such as a facelift.
